When I Love You

I love you when the rivers freeze
When the warmth’s gone, so has the breeze
Gone has the sun with its slumber
Come have I to stay yonder

When I love you, tulips are white
Loyalty for grief and delight
And the night looks after my dreams
Till the morning your leaf is green

I love you with the darkest sky
Where the moon and the stars and angels fly
And when the dawn compels the day to start
I love you with a broken heart.
