Sky

Last night the wind embraced me
while I starred in awe
at the cloudy pink sky above me.

There she was, the same sky that brings us the golden sun,
the million stars,
the moon in her every mood,
and the clouds
- the many kinds of them.

The same old sky that gives us
the sight of flapping wings
- big and small -
the fireworks
- no matter how brief and frivolous they are -
that gives us the rain and the rainbow, drizzle, and the snow,
the milky way and the aurora,
every shades of color known to the eyes,
and even those we have yet to imagine.

And she stays there every day,
cloaked in beauty,
ready,
for any eye that might stop for a while
and look up.
